The PHUNNET is named after a BBS hub that was created by Jehovah's Witnesses for the exchange of
encouragement and ideas to promote true worship according to the original manuscripts of the Bible.
The main "hub" of this BBS network was created and implemented by brothers living on the west coast
of the United States in the late 1980's. The BBS system allowed hub moderators around the world to use a phone line or telnet to connect to
local hubs to download and upload information from the main hub of the network. This network made
the extent of the worldwide association of Jehovah's people more evident to all involved. Today, some
20 years later, the modern Internet has made it possible for a quarter of the earth's population to
use it's services. With more than 7 million plus witnesses, the relatively safe use of the internet is more
important than ever for Jehovah's people. This is one of the main reasons for the PHUNNET's creation, along
with the need for more Bible knowledge in a troubled world.
The PHUNNET website is not affiliated with the
Watchtower Bible and Tract Society The PHUNNET, however
does agree in principle with everything understood and beneficial, that is proliferated by that organization.
It is the hope of this website, that the purpose of the original "PHUNNET" is fulfilled by the users of
this website. In accord with that it is asked that Bible principles be followed by all users. Please feel free to
share whatever is upbuilding and beneficial and to use the PHUNNET's many functions.
The use of the PHUNNET is completely free. Please read the
Disclaimer for further information.
